Lays Potato Chips - The Death of Easter

Good morning. Now, I found out about Lays Potato Chips - The Death of Easter. Which could be very helpful if you ask me so you.

With Spring Morning three weeks away at this writing, it's not too soon to get some Paas Spring Egg Dye and for the ladies to start looking for their spring bonnets so they can strut their stuff down Fifth Avenue in the Spring Day Parade. And, don't forget to lay in a good contribute of jellybeans so the limited ones can undoubtedly enjoy the Spring Baskets the Spring Bunny leaves for them!

What I said. It isn't the final outcome that the true about Lays Potato Chips. You look at this article for home elevators that need to know is Lays Potato Chips.

Lays Potato Chips

Preposterous? Not even close.

Remember Easter pageants? Recall Easter break from school? They're long gone and so, too, will all other mention of Easter be abolished if the P.C. Secularists get their way.

Killing Christmas and all that feast day means to Christians didn't quite cut it with the anti-Christian, War On Christmas set. Now they're out to kill the Easter Bunny, or at least to eliminate the word "Easter" from the American lexicon. Of course, "they" haven't yet succeeded in eliminating the word "Christmas" in favor of "holiday" and "winter," which is not to say they're not doing their darnedest to make the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ about as necessary as Arbor Day.

The good news is that no efforts to date have been recorded to abolish mention of the Jewish festival of Hannukah, Islam's Eid-ul-Fitr, Buddhism's Visakah Puja, or Hinduism's Diwali, although the Roman Saturnalia has gone by the wayside.

Christians celebrate Easter Sunday as the central feast of Christianity, the day of the resurrection of Jesus Christ which in Western Christianity marks the end of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting and penance in making ready for Easter. Eggs, bonnets, parades, and bunnies have at best only a tangential relation to the religious import of the festival but they are all elements of the Easter tradition.

Except maybe in Munson, Ohio.

The woodsy, cozy, affluent almost 200 year old town of Munson, Geauga County, Ohio, population colse to 6500, isn't exactly the kind of place one would expect to blaze new sociological trails. However, this year Munson is making ready for "The Spring Egg Hunt."

Predominantly white, Republican, and Christian, Munson's good trustees have decided that the town's primary "Easter Egg Hunt" was misnomered even if it has always been held on Easter weekend. Some Munson residents are perturbed over the convert although dance choreographer Matt Martsolf plainly says, "Stop the headache. Just let the kids have their day."

Of course, kids having "their day" isn't the issue since they've had the same day for years until person decided "their day" was inappropriately named for some reason.

Was it because the word "Easter" was too difficult to pronounce? Because they were just bored with the name? Because "spring" was more apt for an event on Easter weekend? Or because an "Easter Egg Hunt" was somehow as nasty as "Christmas Holiday," "Christmas Day," and "Christmas Sales?"

The whole uproar in Munson, which isn't undoubtedly an uproar at all since most Munsonians like most other population tend to passively regard such limited alterations in traditions and nomenclature as "a headache," as Mr. Martsolf sees it, or just plain silliness which, in a sense, describes the Munson name spat.

Considered in isolation, the divergence in the middle of a spring or an Easter egg hunt is relatively inconsequential and meaningless. Considered as part of a pattern in which clear elements of American society keep chipping away at the Christian foundations of our society, the Munson, Ohio contretemps takes on a whole other significance.

Munson, which could be Considered a microcosm of America, isn't the first town to attempt to diminish in its own limited way the true meaning of Easter, or of Christmas, and undoubtedly won't be the last and trying to re-name its every year egg hunt is small potatoes, or small eggs, indeed.

Then, again, one small step for a name, one giant leap toward secularism.

In any event, the more things change, the more they remain the same, for now. Munson homebuilder Enzo Perfetto has stepped forward with 0 "to put the sponsorship in incommunicable hands and the Easter back in the egg hunt."

However, "It ain't over 'til it's over," as Yogi wisely said. "The decision to have the egg hunt privately sponsored is under narrate by the county prosecutor:" http://bit.ly/hx2M4b.
