The body deals with this in various ways, (yet other later discussion) but the original way it deals with raised sugar levels, the way which is relevant to weight loss anyway, is that raised sugar levels are rapidly suppressed by the liver which among its other processes, converts large quantities of the sugar into triglycerides, these are fat molecules and end up getting transported to and stored in? You've guessed it, your fat cells.

So, more carbs, more sugar, more fat.
